Starting Monday, Isemoto Contracting Ltd. crews will begin resurfacing the highway at mile marker 8.9, near Palani Junction, according to the department, which anticipates the work will take about three days. Following completion of work near mile marker 8.9, crews will move the resurfacing work to mile marker 4.4, near Waiona Meadows.
The Mamalahoa Highway work is anticipated to wrap up by June 14, according to the department. Crews will be working from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Alternating lane closures will also be in effect on Wednesday and Thursday on Hina Lani Street in North Kona for road resurfacing.
The resurfacing work begins about 100 feet below the road’s intersection with Highway 190 and ends near Hikimoe Street and Kahakea Place, according to the department. The closures will be in effect from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
